Overmorrow was commonly used in Middle English but fell out of the language. So instead of having this practical word, we have the wordy "day after tomorrow." However, overmorrow had a brief history, first recorded in the first half of the 16th century and lasting only into the second half of that same century. Meanwhile, German still has this very useful similar word: übermorgen.
