The full name of the transatlantic liner was RMS Titanic or Royal Mail Ship Titanic, given that, apart from passengers, she also carried mail under contract with the Royal Mail. It was built on the orders of the White Star Line company to cover the passenger route from Southampton to New York. As we know, she went down during the night of April 14, 1912.
